The purpose of this site...
This site exists mainly for the purpose of collecting the signatures of those people who think that it is about time that we had a real alternative auction site to that of Ebay. Therefore we are petitioning Google into action; to launch their own auction site to rival that of Ebays.
In addition this site exists to give the thousands of disgruntled current Ebayers and ex-Ebayers a place to voice their opinions on what Ebay has done wrong and keeps on doing wrong, and to tell their own stories of their own past and current experiences.
Why do we need another auction site?
There are many who would say that Ebay has become more than a little complacent, arrogant, and a bit of a bully of late. It now seems common place that for one reason or another, most of us have something bad to say about the auction giant. Whether it be over rising fees, or the recent development whereby Ebay auction sellers are now FORCED into offering Paypal on their listings, or otherwise.
Although there are some alternatives out there to Ebay, there is nothing really to match its global presence or dominance. Simply put, if you want to sell or buy goods through an auction site and want a fairly quick transaction then you do it through Ebay - at a price. Therefore we feel that Google (the patron saint of giving decent services for free!) should enter the arena as a worthy adversary and put an end to the luxurious virtual monopoly that Ebay enjoys and controls. Google auction site today!
